It's an unofficial fashion maxim that if you must go cheap, you shouldn't do it with shoes. Unfortunately, most of us don't have the budget to splurge for Manolos et. al. What's a girl with tighter purse strings to do?
Shop online, of course. I now get about half of my shoes over the internets, and have gotten so good at it that I can usually guess my size in just about any brand or style.
If I do mess up, though, it's usually not that big a deal. For some reason, shoe sites seem to have some of the best returns policies of any ecommerce destinations. Just don't wear your new purchase around the block before you decide you don't want them, and you might even be able to exchange them for a better pair - for free.
