Tracy Reese is one of my all-time favorite designers, but the last couple of seasons haven't been to my taste. There were, for example, a great deal of dreaded high-waisted pants, and more sequins than I care for, personally.
Yesterday's show changed all that.
I can honestly say there wasn't a single outfit I wouldn't have worn, including the ones featuring short pants. Everything was feminine and springy and well-constructed, and would look good on a variety of sizes, not just the double-0 models who walked them down the runway.
A note about the models: not all of them were white. There were at least two black models and two asians. This is a rarity at Fashion Week, where most shows feature one token "ethnic" model, who might just be an anglo type with dark hair.
At the end of the show, Tracy Reese walked the runway herself, and you could tell she knew she'd nailed it. Of course, the standing ovation probably clued her in.
I want all of these clothes for spring. Especially this dress:
