And I do mean, stand.
The first year I went to Fashion Week (seems like decades ago, now, but it was only 2006) I stood for just about every show. I'm a short lady, so by the end of the week, I was pretty much entirely covered with elbow-shaped bruises - most of them on my head.
These days, I can usually wheedle my way into a chair at some of the shows, but I'm always amazed at how rude people can be. In my experience, it's only the folks you've never heard of who behave badly. Real famous folks tend to be sweet, because they can afford to be. (Love you, Tim Gunn!)
The quote of the day so far was from an unfamous lady standing just behind me in the crowd trying to leave the Promenade after a show. With great disgust, she said to her friend, "The problem is, they're letting the camera guys come out with the people."
